The thing about this album is that it's different musically and lyrically from their older stuff. usually their albums are full of character sketches, with one or two more "poetic" songs that are focused on mood and imagery. this album is the opposite in that respect.

Will have to check this out. I kinda gave up on this band. I used to be a huge Jagjaguwar nut (because of Okkervil River) but my tastes shifted elsewhere. The lyrics are definitely where it's always been at with these guys. "It Ends With A Fall" - enough said. Edit: I'm loving it thus far.

The Valley is such a great opener. When I got my first apartment at 18 one of the first things I did was set up my stereo and picked a random album from all of my pirated music at the time and it just happened to be this, a great memory of mine.
