This is most certainly neither a 2 nor a 4.5. I think A 3 (MAYBE a 3.5) would be fair. This is from someone who would ride HU-era Scar Symmetry's cock into town to buy groceries and not feel a hint of regret.

I find a 2 insulting really. The album is listenable, has a few pretty good tracks (The Anomaly is the catchy Scar Symmetry I've missed so dearly), and the musicianship for the most part is amazing. Per is a bloody fantastic guitarist, and anyone should be able to see that.

4.5 is also ridiculous because well... come on. Some of the songs are worthless, the drums and bass remain unimpressive/completely lost in the mix, the 2 new vocalists are lesser to Christian in both of their "specialties", and they have thrown away a lot of what made them fantastic. (No more lengthy epics? Seriously.)

This site has 3 different kinds of members: Staff (all of whom hate Scar Symmetry, because it's nothing like their beloved Converge), Elitists (who gobble and regurgitate Staff opinion like a bulimic at a hotdog eating competition), and normal people/metalheads. Unfortunately, the former 2 have the power, and as can be seen with the mysteriously changing pos's for the 2 reviews of this album, they have no problem misusing it.

Basically, Scar Symmetry will always get shit here. It's just how the site is. Just gotta deal with it and not make the fans look incompetent (Pankar is failing at this.)

Also, Wizard has proven that one can have 14k posts and still be dumber than a monkey with down's. Anyone who can say Christian Alvestam's vocals suck is just not worth their weight in piss.
