Eh, no. Just because it's described in compositional terms instead of terms like "heavy" "blasting" "awesome" "brutal" and all that other drivel typical to metal reviews, doesn't mean it wasn't listened to. Quite the opposite.



Of course I know what the album is SUPPOSED to be. It fails. Also, I couldn't care less about technicality - it doesn't have to be technical to be good. Ildjarn is excellent, this is trash.

Well, if it isn't your thing it isn't your thing. It's sad to see one of your favorite albums hated, but it's not really that important. Those were just the discrepancies i saw.

Check out Jaaportit. I haven't heard all their albums yet, but most people consider 'Uumenissa' their best.

I've heard samples from the newest one... seemed post-rocky.

Yeah, the tags were post-rock/electronica, but the guy who recommended it usually has pretty good tastes, so i decided to check it out. I'll get Uumenissa as well, especially if it's comparable to Substrata.

It's eerily similar, actually.

I doubt anything will surpass Kobresia though. Track is absolutely sublime. But, we'll see.
