I'm pretty sure CMG likes the record.

Then again, caring about what other websites say is pretty passé. (What an inherently contradictory statement.)

often cmg surprise me though, so maybe. Granted they did enjoy person pitch but as did i.
I'm just curious as to what others think. The general critic consensus is that this is indeed quite good.

Their writing when they go against the grain has a tendency to get hyper-defensive, though.

it does, but it is quite entertaining to read, and often funny as well

At some times, yes. At others, it's grating.

Wow this album has no professional reviews that rate it under 4/5 according to wikipedia.
That's insane...

This album continues to get more and more bland as I replay it. Not a grower for me. Maybe I should stop while I still enjoy it...

Really like this one the first few listens. "Alsation Darn" is fantastic, especially from 2:43 onwards.

To me this comes across as self-conscious, strained and well...empty.

My points exactly.
|

Self-conscious? I can see you saying it comes across empty though, but again, it's not one of those records that requires an emotional connection to enjoy.

Disappointing. Why Panda Bear? Person Pitch was so full of life, and this is so barren of it. Thinking I'll write a sound-off to stretch out my thoughts more...
