despite some very lackluster research, i still don't know what the original 11:11 sessions is in relation to just "11:11", so can anyone explain that to me?
well I mean they're two completely separate albums -- it's not like one is a remixed or re-recorded version of the other or anything. Rhymesayers signed him back in 03/04ish and he was supposed to put out a record called 11:11, but then a bunch of shit happened during the sessions to him personally and he shelved it -- then recorded a different album a few years later and released it, and it's called 11:11. about 2 years after that he decided to finally release the original album that was supposed to be called 11:11, hence why it's called The Original 11:11 Sessions (or, you could read my review... : ) )

^at least that's my understanding of why it was shelved -- but really that's more an assumption that a statement of fact, because it's not liked I asked him about it.

11;11 has some really great songs like Backward, Sun Storm, Pound That Beer, and Calm Down Baby, but it really doesn't stand up to the Original 11:11 sessions for me.

just about finished this, I love it
will definitely be getting more plays from me

yeah that was in the review theard for Original 11:11. That album is a great depression record, although the majority of the first half is somewhat bouncy/upbeat.
|
| |
i'll check it out eventually
will let this sink in for a bit though

yeah that was excellent
haven't really heard atheist themes in hip-hop before, i'm struggling to think of a time I have heard a criticism of religion before

yeah he talks about that alot in his songs. Dont agree with that part of his mantra but love pretty much everything else.
|
| |
he didn't seem too overbearing with it, more of in an "it didn't work for me" sort of way
may need to pay closer attention to it though

he's less subltle on some of his other tracks throughout his discog. theres a song off 11:11, cant remember which one, where he mocks everyone for "worshipping an invisible man in the sky."
