btw what should i pick up from synkro if i havent heard anything?
Most of his stuff is good, but try the Everybody Knows EP
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ntwu7eOtwCY
i wonder if his next album will have any kind of trend starting qualities like his others, considering the way the scene has grown.
He never started a trend, he simply took a genre that came together as a fusion of other genres and focused on one part more than the other

nice thanks dev that was an awesome track. but honestly as much as i love clubroot and anyone else who has been continuing on the path that burial left empty for so long (distance might be my favorite artist that fits that description), i cant help but feel like burial is still by far the best at it. its probably from the fact that i still listen to untrue all the damn time but jesus i just cant get enough of this guy.

"He never started a trend, he simply took a genre that came together as a fusion of other genres and focused on one part more than the other"
"Untrue changed the face of dubstep forever, for anyone not familiar with the genre the album became a calling card, a landmark. And in its wake sprang forth a number of artists with hopes of capitalizing on its overwhelming success."
maybe trend starting isnt the correct term, but obviously you see what i mean with the kind of influence he had.

i dont think theres anything at this point that he could release that would "change the face of dubstep forever". at this point the most i want from burial is an album thats as impacting as untrue was- not on the dubstep genre as a whole, but on the listener- and THAT would not only make me happy, it would be fucking perfect.

i do think his next full-length will be fucking awesome. and i think this EP is great along with the tracks with four tet and thom. I wonder how long he worked on both though. i mean untrue was 2007, hes had 3 years but the collab was 2 tracks and this was 3.

I really like this review Dev.

The same trait can be found in ‘Street Dog’, where they almost form the drawing points that hold the track’s sprawling nature in check, those hurriedly sampled street corner lamentations swirling in a haze of hastily assembled structures and blurry designs.
you mean "stolen dog" i believe
