Yeah Try Try Try is another great track here. I also really like Glass and the Ghost Children but I seem to be in the minority.

See, even though there are a few clunkers, there are so many great tracks on this thing.

yeah GatGC is cool. i like the progginess and weird anticlimatic structure, was something new from them.

i'm almost tempted to bump my rating. i dare to dream that this will have a 3.5 average some day.

You know, I’m tempted too. If they had cut about 4 of the songs, it would be a definite 4.5.

yeah it's quite easy to justify when you consider how much most other folk seem to underrate it

originally-planned double album might've been the best thing they ever did but as for what we actually ended up with, it ain't bad either. Machina 2 fucking rocks as well, possibly better than this one as a standalone record, but it took me a little while to come around

This is pretty good but the production is weird. It seems really one-dimensional.

They definitely overplayed their hand with the production. I think it works really well on some of the more dream-pop stuff but the heavier songs can be pretty grating.

Yeah Heavy Metal Machine being the worst offender in that regard. I remember the first time I heard the into thinking what the hell is that lol

I saw these guys play Heavy Metal Machine live in 2015,and it was somehow just as harsh. Amazing

Been listening to this a lot in the last couple of days. It aint that bad as i remember. Definately more upbeat and rocking than Adore. Some tracks could be shorter, making the whole thing easier to digest.

Still hate Imploding Voice bc it just sounds gross

Hwavy Metal Machine works in contrast with the chorus I think

At the time of its creation, Billy was always writing for a double album purpose, but unfortunately the label was not interested on concept opera rock albums anymore. Too bad.

The blog http://albumsthatneverwere.blogspot.com made a 28-song cycle reconstruction of what could have been the band intentions. Give it a try if you loved Mellon Collie.
