wasn't a rumor, it was common knowledge back when i listened to dimmu borgir in the 90s. i bounced off that band so quickly, was a good gateway into black metal and i even saw them live in '99 but that was the end for me, really. the opener (Samael) was so much better that it wasn't even funny.

Yeah, I looked it up. It is definitely Tormentor of Christian Souls. The line is "a n-word will bring you the souls of silence at once." And their justification is they thought the word meant slave.
