Davey - Sixteen was aparently chosen because of the reaction live to the EP song's. That one got the biggest reaction. Plus they released Serpents as a single already so i guess that counted against it too.

Either way i really like sixteen as a song, its catchy and has some good melodic guitar and vocal work.

Haven't listened to this band since high school. Not expecting much, but I'll give it a listen.

i got into everything since the very beginning up to and including Tales, but memory and humanity kinda lost me...there are some solid tracks here but i've yet to see how this album holds up as a whole.

Matthew doesn't do harsh vocals, the drummer does. change it and you're good

Thanks; did not know that- fixed.

Also fixed an error in the track listing ('Spinning Over the Island" was listed as "Spinning Over the Land.")

If You Run, I think I would have included the 3 of them tbh and had this as a 13 track LP. I thought it may have something to do with 'SiS' already being released as a single, but I don't see how that should automatically have it excluded. I like 'Sixteen' also, but think that 'SiS' has the best choral hook of any song they have released of late.

I'm starting to finally get my head around this album. Just need to finalize what I think about Matt's vocals now, since they may be the most questionable thing about it all.

This album...wow. I've always loved FFAF, but this is a new level. And this is now my favorite album by them, surpassing Hours.

Great review.

I definitely like 'Medicated'. In a sense though, this album is not unlike 'M&H' in that no song really stands out.

This album/review is the trickiest one I can remember writing for quite some time. It's seriously doing my head in right now, although I'm hoping to have it up some time tomorrow.

Really enjoying the instrumentation on this album, but the vocals seem really hit and miss. The shift in Davies voice from Tales onwards feels jarring and out of place; it works on the more melodic moments, but just feels a little weak and restrained when combined with the more aggressive music they're writing now, which is frustrating considering the mesh is perfect on their early material. He does have some good moments on this album though, I think the title track in particular works really well.

I dunno, I don't really see that, but I can see why you would.

Good review man, I'm spinning this now, and it sounds pretty good. Think I might be in the minority who really liked M&H, but even after one listen this beats Tales.
