so you like the gimmicky Eminem?

Well, to put it simply: I guess. His early stuff WAS very gimmicky, but there's just nothing interesting about Eminem unless he's pulling his gimmicks. The fact that it's so contrived is what keeps those albums from being the classics everyone says they are (to me), but at the same time I'd much rather hear Eminem rant and rave about some shit he never did and never will do than hear him apologize for it in his mid 30s over some beats that wouldn't sound out of place on a Backstreet Boys album.

(sorry Eno, off-topic again)

back on the subject, listened to this again (for like the hundreth time) on my way in to work today -- still rules.

I watched 8 Mile on Friday for like the first time in forever. Forgot how much Shook Ones is featured in that movie.

Might be because it's the first Rae album i've properly listened to, but this is my favourite of his/the Wu albums so far. Checking the others out as well right now.

not better than 36 Chambers imo, but damn close to anything/everything else

OB4CL, Liquid Swords and Supreme Clientele are the holy trinity of Wu solo discs, and this is right there with them

I always wonder why Tical never gets mentioned in the top Wu solo records. Album rules hard, and it has two very famous, iconic hip Hop songs.

I'd definitely throw that one in as well. Meth is, and always has been, my favorite Wu member.
