I'd say it's worth a three or a little bit more overall. Not nearly as bad as people say. First time Craig Owens has ever sounded decent.

There are some good songs on here, Sex Life is just awful, and other songs are bland and forgettable.

First of all, its not entirely fair to base the entire opinion of an album on what you thought
it was going to be like. I found this album to be very successful, not only in its own success or
sales, but as more of testing the waters. It is true however that the songs arent too unique and
most sound similar. This does not make it a bad album, mediocre, not bad.
Second, craig owens haters out there automatically had a bias opinion, and thats clear just
reading the comments. He is a talented songwriter and vocalist, and anyone who says otherwise
(personal fan or not) is ignorant.
Third, this album definitely shows flashes of good things to come, just as the chiodos did, they
changed each album to get their sound. There are some good songs on here and some ones that are just
background noise. Overall, i feel they rushed this album, and seemed to me that Craig O. almost had
a personal vendetta and changed his style to more radio, mainstream friendly listeners to get more
radio play or sales. (for ex the MTV music videos)

This album really expands his vocal abilities and truly there's more inspiration to this album than most think. The
tracks speak for themselves, maybe not poetically, but physically. Craig truly comes guns ablazing with payback in
mind.

People are gonna rip this apart forever, just as with any band in "The Scene". Owens is a love/hate vocalist for just about everyone. He kinda grew on me personally.
Now as far as the album goes: i actually enjoyed most of it. It's very angsty and in your face, and i like that. they kinda hit the points between Pop Punk-Post-Hardcore and Metalcore with each song, and i see this as a good debut album. It showed the different ends of the spectrum that they can hit, now whats left is for them to decide which end to stick with.

The Self-titled debut LP from this supergroup of sorts is surprisingly slick & accessible, considering its members & dark lyrics. Often sounding disconcertingly similar to fellow John Feldmann produced post-hardcore band The Used, the Michigan quintet predominantly stick by their formula of ominous verses exploding into catchy choruses. Competent in almost every aspect, D.R.U.G.S. is clearly still a work in progress, but if they can put as much time into their music as into their song titles, then they just may form a cohesive outfit in the future. Recommended Tracks: If You Think This Song..., The Only Thing You Talk About & The Hangman.
