He's fallen off now as rappers always do, but there was a time when he could outrap virtually anyone.

100% serious. His flow is great, his play on words are untouched in this era. Like I said, he's fallen off, but that's just what rappers do: they set the world on fire and make amazing music and reach the clouds, and then they fall right back into the earth at light speed. From 2006-2008 he made great rap music, and he made ALOT of it.

I mean, there are a lot of rappers from this decade I prefer over him, but objectively he's up there for his era

Still rules.

Also, Dedication 5 is awesome. Hopefully he can keep it up, but I doubt it.

Yeah that's me, this guy is just an annoying rapper for lame hipsters and kids with obey snapbacks, yolo t-shirts and tight jeans. Nothing original, innovative and his lyricism is lame.

you realise your criticism of lil wayne is grounded on excactly what your post suffers from right except the lyricism part obv

also you use the word lame too much.

Aesop rock has an excellent voice, the sound of his a big part of his albums is diverse and solid lyricism in which he touchs different topics and uses different resources ( funky guitars, trip hop sounds and more). The biggest flaw of him was bazooka tooth cuz some of the beats are a little bit weak and still that album is far better than everything created by lil wayne. The only semi tolerable shit he has made has been one mixtape which doesn't deserve a not above 2,5, his lyrics are lame as hell usually and most of the beats of his songs are so horrible that it sounds like is coming from a mid 00's nokia cellphone, besides his attempt to make an album with rock instrumentation is an insult against the vallhalla of rock and roll. Everything made by this guy has been made before and the results were better. He is not enjoyable and his fan base belongs to a suicide cult like jonestown or shit like that.
