This album is so darn cool. The instrumental parts are great but the vocals...hm...it just sounds like
the cookie monster sings for them. At first i hated it but I guess it's tolerable. The guitar solo's
are also sweet.
Nice review.

I'm listening to this album a lot these days. Ego and The Distance are crazy good. This album has fixed everything that sucked about The Redshift, sacrificing only a teensy weensy bit of catchiness... while I miss a song like No Breaking Point, Ego and The Distance are also super sweet.

Lyrics on Ego are pretty funny but I dig it.

Lyrics have never been this band's strong point.

It's a fine cheese coating. It actually makes me like it more.

Yea, it's pretty good. Kinda forgettable and I agree with Hyperion that this is indeed genericore, but it's well made and worth an occasional spin.

I'm listening this for the first time, and is it just me, or the melody in the first track is kinda similar to the chorus melody in Day Is Done by Nick Drake?

MetalStyles, which bands would you say these guys sound like? I should check them out, because I love this album.

Be'lakor, In Mourning, Insomnium, Noumena, Skyfire, Garden of Shadows, Fractal Gates, Autumn Leaves and Barren Earth off the top of my head. It's really hard for me to pick favorites among them as I like all those bands, but If I were you I'd go with Be'lakor (album: Stone's Reach), In Mourning (album: Shrouded Divine), Autumn Leaves (album: As Night Conquers Day) and Insomnium (album: doesn't matter which you pick really) first (of course, all others would tell you that Garden of Shadows is essenthiul melodeath, but eeeh, it's a great album but it didn't blow my mind).
