Despite some reasonably interesting ideas and several honest-to-God attempts at decent
musicianship, the album was ultimately let down by the fact that its target demographic that had long
since moved on to newer and greener pastures.
Maybe it's just me but there is something odd about this sentence...

Also, that's it - I'm not reviewing any more Linkin Park releases. I give them a positive review - I get an unexplained neg; I give them a negative review - I still get an unexplained neg. Someone is clearly allergic to seeing this band appear in print.

Also - some solid site users like Nag and couldwinarabbit are saying that this review isn't as effective as I thought it was, and that I tend to produce better positive reviews overall. Care to point out a few weaknesses for me Xeno? I'd really like to improve my writing further.

@ BassDemon: Yup, stay clear. And to be honest with you man, I actually thoroughly enjoyed A Thousand Suns, and was seriously contemplating getting myself a ticket for one of their Canadian dates. Then I listened to this. Not a chance I'm going now.

New Divide was already effin' terrible as a single, but somehow they managed to make it suck even more on this EP...

If I may: I get where the 1,5 is coming from but I would really want to see you write a true Irving rant, that would be awesome.

Superb review Irving! A very smooth and fun read, definitely contributor-worthy material! May I suggest, though, that your negative reviews seem less harsh than they actually are. You definitely have scathing descriptions, but they seemed too cheerful and jokey to be taken seriously. Just my thoughts.

@ pizz: That's actually very good criticism Pizz. I had not thought of that before. Do you think my attempts at humour + entertaining writing take away from the ultimate purpose of the review? Would you think about the review differently had I omitted the more jokey lines? And if yes, how?

@ wyankeif: That rant was just born out of frustration - each time I've done LP on this site I've received an unexplained neg for it. I'm actually fine with being negged - it'd just be nice to have some justification for it and to get some suggestions on how to improve if and when it does happen.
