^^Vocals are full of youth's clumsiness.

Awesome review man! I freaking love this album!! I know most fans of Voivod praise their abstract forward thinking material showcased in albums like “Killing Technology,” “Dimension Hatross,” and “Nothingface.” Which I totally understand because that is essentially the prime years of the band and one of the best trilogy runs of albums in Metal history and I love those albums as well, but there’s just something I really admire and worship about the early Voivod material like “War and Pain” and “Rrroooaaarrr!” Because when this band is playing balls out Speed and Thrash I think they are incredibly exciting to listen to. Us fans are well aware of the technical skill of each member of the band which we became completely aware of with the release of “Killing Technology” but when these guys are less focused on trying to craft progressive intellectually proficient musical material and instead just decide to let their hair down and go full tilt with energy and use the music as catharsis for releasing their anger and frustrations, it’s something that personally I feel is so infectious and it is just so enjoyable to hear them play this way and to me I feel like when they just play the straight to the throat punky speed Thrash that they prove they can also do that as good or better than any badass thrash band if they chose to. Voivod are so special and are one of the Metal bands I respect the most.

"Better than Bathory."

Ok so this isn't bad for what it is, but this > Bathory? For real?

I mean, if I have to pick between two kinds of Venom worship, I may as well go for the more substantive form of it.

I prefer Voivod’s sci-fi aesthetic as well

Don't get me wrong, Bathory had a debt to pay to Venom, but I'll be damned if they didn't evolve from it since their debut. That being said, I don't recall being a BM fan so I digress. Voivod got much better after this and Roar imo

It's also just a lot more jagged and visceral than the "Cronos' Satanic Care Package Redux V. II" aesthetic that Bathory's debut essentially is.
