Sure to be most welcome by British listeners, the belated debut LP from English quartet Little Comets includes hints of afro-pop & math-rock amongst the jangly, yet angular guitar melodies that embed themselves in your mind. More Maximo Park than Kaiser Chiefs, the songwriting is deceptively mature, with the serious themes sometimes jarring against the jovial music. It's front-loaded & has some dated filler towards the end, while Robert Coles' over-enunciations often irritate. Ultimately however, 'In Search of Elusive Little Comets' is an enjoyable slice of catchy indie-pop. Recommended Tracks: One Night in October, Adultery, Joanna & Isles.

Yeah, probably as much as I do. Think Foals' 'Antidotes', a bit of Vampire Weekend & also a helping of Maximo Park. YouTube 'One Night In October' & 'Adultery' as I think they are the 2 best tracks.
