I must say I am glad that the man has such a loyal following here on Sputnik!

It's partly thanks to you Conor ;)

It's one of the best live albums ever so yeah. Gallagher gets significantly less love than he should on here though.

Also, it's a shame that a lot of guys don't delve into his discog and listen mainly to this album.

Agreed he has so many great albums.

His self-titled, Photo Finish and Top Priority are my favourite studio albums of his. I think I have them all 4.5'd.

Yeah his discog is very solid. The only album until 1982 I have under 4 is Against The Grain. But then he really stepped up. My favorites atm are Calling Card, Rory Gallagher and Tattoo.

This is one of the great live recordings. Rory is still one of my favorite guitarists. A Million Miles Away is 10+ minutes of awesomeness, Tattoo'd Lady & Cradle Rock are other favorites. I had the pleasure of watching the man from the font row later in his career (1991). It remains one of my fondest memories of my many years of attending gigs.

Hard to believe Rory has been gone for 20 years now.

Rory didn't make a single average album. One of the greatest bluesmen ever and one of the few who could hold a candle to the pioneers of the genre.

Yeah, you are quite right. I have pretty much his entire catalogue. The man was so passionate about his craft, it certainly comes out in his playing.

Definitely. Only he could write and perform a song like A Million Miles Away or For The Last Time.

It's always amazing to hear just how clearly his energy performing live is translatable to tape
