Wow! I didnt know half the stuff you mentionned in here and i own the cd(guess it would help if i understood german). I always thought feuer frei was a really violent song(because of the Bang Bang).

This is probably my least favorite Rammstein album...the only song on here I really like is Feuer Frei...

Really? IMO this and Sensucht are their best.

"Mutter" is my absolute favorite song by them, something about the instrumentation caught my ears the first time I listened.

"Mein Herz Brennt" is also BRILLIANT, what a way to start an album.

The other tracks are more hard hitting than those two, but they all amount to a great piece of music.

The chorus to Sonne is one of my favourite choruses ever.. The choir swells blend so well with the guitars and makes the chorus sound so huge.

This album is always regarded as like.. Rammstein's best or something.. I think it's absolutely terrible.

This album is imo the best Rammstein ever released. The thing with Mutter is, there is no filler, everytime I listen to songs off this record, I can sit out the whole ride and enjoy. My favourite track just has to be Spieluhr, that needs a 6/5 rating imo.



Rammstein's later albums are cool but atmospheric, it takes a while to get into that rammstein side, and the older ones are too techno-driven for my taste, although they're both solid records. Herzeleid is still better than Sehnsucht though.

Hey, since I've been living in Germany for the past 5 years and therefore have a certain familiarity with the language, I thought I might point out a couple of slight mistakes. First of all, "Feuer Frei" is actually the German phrase for "open fire", not "fire freely", which sounds a bit like the act of urination. Secondly, Mr X. Christ seems to have misspelled "Spieluhr". Sorry, I don't want to sound anal or anything, but I'm just one of those people who get annoyed when people pronounce it "ramstine" (or worse: "ramsteen"); it's RammSHTINE!

yeah, speilhur sounds really funny considering that "hur" means "whore" and "spei" means to "vomit" ^^ so it's vomitlwhore in english...

all in all this is the best Rammstein album ever, though it's still worth nothing. Because i'm coming from Austria the music that might be quite enjoyable is completely destroyed for me by the shitty lyrics.

and links-2-3-4 has those left-wing statements because Rammstein have always been accused of being closely in touch with the right neo-nazi scene in germany (something that doesn't seem that unbelievable when you understand what they are singing - and they are very popular among those right-wing germans)

i never got it, why it was rammstein that became so popular in the states. no, that means, i do understand, it's because the music is bombastic and the live shows are huge - and because no one understands the lyrics over there.

but there are much better bands from germany, like Tocotronic, Kettcar or Kante, but none of them will ever become as famous because they are much too lyric-orientated.
