This album was like a really nicely wrapped present containing a paper weight. It's cool when you first get it but once you open it it bores you to no end.

It's aesthetic is very similar to pop-punk in the way it's supposed to be like. a lot of emo i enjoy due to the contrast of melancholy vox with the dynamic guitars, but here it's just really enjoyable, catchy tunes with noodly guitars. also john's lyrics are great.

well guys i dont know much about emo but if this is emo then emo isn't all that different to pop-punk just saying

i've also heard SDRE described as emo

yeah they're (well, Diary definitely) is really poppy emo too, but that's pop music applied to a different type of emo which is a wide-ranging genre.
