Wow, this is ridiculously better than the original.

Yea it is. If people disliked the original's tone and lack of, well everything, then this is the one to get.

Amazing review for an amazing album.
I've only given this a listen once, because I left it at home when I was visiting, but this is a great improvement of the original. I can't wait until finals are over so I can indulge in hours of NIN and give this another proper listen.

"To put it in a bit of context, I'm not the biggest NIN fan. I only really like their debut and Broken. I like the radio tracks from The Downward Spiral, but otherwise couldn't care less. I think with a bigger sound that it could regain my attention... it's just a personal opinion from a very casual NIN fan."
I agree 100%

Real nice review. That said,
atmosphere and overall viciousness that lacked on the original be heard.
sounds a bit awkward, to my ears. Original version of the album is incredible (probably my favorite NIN, atm), so I'll definitely check this one out.

I listened to the samples on iTunes and didn't notice any difference. I guess I just need to bite the bullet and buy it.

Nice review. This is one of my favorite NIN albums and I forgot they were remastering it. That's awesome. Must get it.

Trey if you have the original album then compare it to this remaster once you get it. The difference is amazing. There isn't a low treble or bass like the '89 version, so it makes a great difference instantly.

So, I finally listened to this and it definitely has a better sound. The song I noticed it on the most actually was "Something I Can Never Have." It made the floor rumble in places.

For anyone that doesn't hear a difference pull both albums up on amazon on two different browser tabs and go back and forth. it's pretty obvious. I was just listening to the original about a month ago and just couldn't get into it because it just didn't sound as good as I remembered it. Conversely I've listened to the remastered a number of times since reading this review.
