Definitely my favorite from this. His Old Branches and Cartographer still trump anything else they've done though, including this album.

This is really good but anyone who has not yet checked His Old Branches and The Cartographer are cheating themselves of the best things this band has accomplished.

really cool to see artists using sput as a communicative platform

It's more common than you think; seen plenty of smaller and less recognized indie groups post here thanking us for good reviews (or bitching about bad ones); also have seen bands as famous as Yellowcard and Blue October post.
My greatest personal moment is still when Converge tweeted me a shout out.

oh shit really? pretty sweet. gotta love the internet age

Yeah it's awesome to have that level of communication at our fingertips. Still never seen a band as chill as these guys though, most groups (if they post at all) leave 1 or maybe 2 comments. Billy and all those guys seem like the type to have a full conversation with you. They don't think they're above conversing with fans; it's awesome and really refreshing.

yeah man thats what I really appreciate. Frank Turner is similarly chilled, I emailed him on his birthday one year with birthday wishes and how I loved his recent project and he had a short convo with me about it, was surreal

The Attic is one of the best songs on here, lyrically it's one of the strongest songs I've heard.

Shocked that I've never rated it, cause I listened to it somewhere along the time when I joined sputnik in 2011. Would have probably given it a 3.5 back then, cause most songs didn't click with me at the time. I remembered about the record this summer and revisited it. Now I really like it. While I find the lyrics a bit... too try-hard with all the symbols and metaphors on top of each other, the music is really beautiful and... graceful. I don't find the record dark though.
Like... okay, maybe it is dark, but not completely without some light shining through it.
I adoooore the last five songs. The only track that hasn't caught on completely with me is Greek Fire, but it's great too.
Favorite moments (among others) are the way that 'firestone' is sang by the singer in Grounded..., the calm sweetness of 'there's a giant asleep under all of this water,I'm searching in vain for his name' and the last line of You Missed the Point,

The screams on Greek fire are so Good
