this has always been MOR hip hop soundin to me
as always - you either listen to this for 'the hits' or you listen because you find Kanye intrinsically absolutely fascinating and devour everything he does
even by the (awful 6 minutes long) second song I challenge anyone not to be bored to tears by this album in 2019

Opener, Power, Devil...then some of So Appalled and Runaway is the whole album really, I could dump most of the rest
Every song on this is over 4:30...but imo no song on this has the melodic richness, thematic depth or 'idea well' to support being over 4 minutes in length is the main issue
makes it all drag - Kanye found brevity too late, seriously, his newfound brevity matched to him still actually having decent song ideas could have been the winning ticket for me liking his stuff
