"where as Yeezus is perfection straight to the point with many subtleties to be explored."
Are you referring to production or lyrics? Because these lyrics are almost undoubtedly better

i really like yeezus but its probably his least subtle or intentional album
i mean like i could have made most of those beats on my mac in probably 15 minutes
thats not to say that theyre bad cause they work with what he's going for. but like theres not much depth to most of it at all.

I think a lot (most) people misunderstand the statement Yeezus makes and take it way too much at face value. I need to write a review for it one of these days. Once you grasp the full effect of Yeezus it is like a whole new album.

Yeezus's lyrics are about as subtle as a Michael Bay film

Devil in a New Dress is one of the best songs
and then there's Runaway
People just eat this up becase it is so grand, it is easy to think of an 'epic' as being a classic. It is like comparing a 10/10 comedy movie to a 10/10 drama everyone is always going to go ahead and say the drama is so much better because of its grand sense and seriousness, except you are all fooled by this album's big statement with little substance, where as Yeezus is perfection straight to the point with many subtleties to be explored.
What exactly makes you think this has no subtlety while Yeezus would? They're made by the same man. Now you sound like you don't want to think about anything deeper on this because you think the exterior is so grand it couldn't have anything else, which is false.
Plus, I've dissected and thought about pretty much any possible "subtlety" Yeezus might have multiple times - I just think this is better, even though I love that album.

I don't think this album has no substance, I just don't think it has nearly as much the album tries to fool you into thinking it has something that is all too common in sort of grand media representations whether it be film or music.
You are completely entitled to your opinion that this is your favourite Kanye West album or whatever but it isn't mine. I feel like the songs on here are overbloated and fail to bring personality, atmosphere and depth of character in the way Kanye's other work does. While this definitely has its moments I feel like it gets so lost getting caught up in trying to be something big that it loses its charm and approachableness/ relatableness that Kanye's music has on his other albums. While the bigness is in of itself a virtue I feel like it also greatly detracts from the personality and finer details of the music, if that makes sense.
