I 've already explained my opinion about Gris. Some bands try to hide their lack of talent behind terrible production, extreme black metal image and extreme vocals. These things make them look cult and different. But when coming to melody or descent orchestrations, compositions etc there is almost nothing there.

Gris use violins in their music, so there's plenty of melody present. And their vocals are some of the most emotional you'll hear in the genre.

Then just think before you post. You obviously don't know much about black metal, that much is clear with what you just said about Gris because none of it is true. There is a huge amount of melody in their music and the production only complements it by contributing to the general atmosphere. And like hawks said the vocals are enough to send you on a depression
If you can seriously put a band that rehashes the same shitty, over-the-top, cheesy, unoriginal orchestration played over boring uninspired riffs over bands like Gris and Deathspell that are actually putting effort into making unique black metal then you obviously do not know much about the genre at all and should refrain from commenting in random black metal band threads about how much they suck for reasons that make absolutely no sense.
