I always thought that assymetrical sounds like if Mars Volta were a metalcore band.

Am I crazy?

I don't really have any favourites off DTGL, it's a solid listen through and through. My most listened to was definitely the opener, in regards to myself. Now I just spin the whole thing front to back whenever I'm in the mood.

"Young and Aspiring", "In regards to myself", "breathing in a new mentality" and "In Division" are all really good opening tracks.

I don't think any of their songs will dethrone To Whom It May Concern for me. Perfect encapsulation of their sound for that album.

I personally think "in completion" is their best closer followed by "To Whom It May Concern"

Anybody got any recs for albums that are similar to this? Something with that kinda dark vibe but also melodic and with no whiny vocals. Also that isn't a different Underoath album lmao.

This is really hitting the spot but I want something new and I'm struggling to find anything with a similar feel to it.

Vocally, Meridional by Norma Jean is kinda similar. Same(?) drummer as this album too.

this album is one of a kind, i think the closest you will get to a slimier vibe to this is Silent Planet (but they are prog. metalcore)

Aaron isn't on this album bro, it's Daniel Davison. Aaron wrote some drum parts here and there before leaving but he didn't record anything
