Well they are pretty different. Thornography is by far their most "experimental" album.

Here are my first thoughts:

Pros:

- Seems complex enough to keep it interesting even after several listenings

- There are some beautiful moments in contrast with some brutallity, which has always been one of COF's best trademarks.

Cons:

- Didn't like the female vocals

- Album seems too long even though its just 62 mts long

This is a fantastic review! I haven't listened to this one yet, and probably won't since Thornography pretty much destroyed any hope I had that this band would somehow be tolerable again. I think this review could apply to anything after Midian... That really is the last time I could stomach the preteniousness of the whole spectacle.

It's nowhere near as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.

doesnt compare to their earlier stuff. i understand that they are getting older but you can Beat Cruelty and the Beast and Lovecraft and Witchhearts.

despisediconsxe - lovecraft and witchhearts was a best of compilation, not an album.

album's not as bad as people have made it out to be, but it's pretty bland. i like cradle of filth, i think all their stuff up till midian was excellent. and because of that i'm cursed to forever listen every shite they put out. wish they would just retire.

also i can't stand allender on guitars. his writing is dull as bat shit and his tone is awful. it's ridiculously over processed to the point where every note he's played since damnation has sounded identical.

Judging by the review it's not worth listening this. So no rating from me. I used to like CoF when i was like 15 or something. Nowadays i just can't take them serious.

i kind of want to post an article but its not really news so...

whether that's driving a flock of sheep through the town centre on a bank holiday or the keys to every inn and wine cellar in the county. I've also been looking into a nice new country pile, the parties will be immense, the kind Lord Byron would throw if he had access to some Slayer albums
this made me lol
