As post-hardcore this blows, but as pop-metal it's pretty badass.

I like this description.

Yeah, that's what I was aiming for in the review, man. Calling this ph is like calling Fall Out Boy emo.

Well, I think it's pretty awesome, but genres in all mediums are made up of conventions and if something doesn't relate to any of them it seems senseless to consider it as part of that genre. If you went to see a horror movie and it turned out to be a rom-com you'd most likely be put off, just like a lot of people familiar with what post-hardcore used to be (and still is, many would say) would be put off this. Post-hardcore was strongly related, obviously connected to hardcore punk, hence the name. This album/band are so far removed from hardcore the tag is meaningless. I'm not suggesting it's really important, just that it makes more sense to call them pop metal.

point was that their sound is still what we would consider "real" post hardcore

+ they're still releasing material = "modern"

also they're good but not gods.

Yeah, I don't think people calling 'em ph is a bad thing, it's only an opinion that they're not, but I thought that suggesting a different view might open a few minds of people who would completely write them off because they don't sound like Jawbox etc.

Wow this is alot better than I expected after first listen. Words seem kindof meh but he has a pretty good voice. Will listen more after work but I like it more than bone palace already, though doubt it will surpass alls well.

Craig's vocals just ruined anything they ever did.

This. Been listening to this a lot the last few days. Thinking of bumping the rating up a notch.

Has been growing on me, may be a 4 soon, probably not. New singers screams are cool and sound good but

the reverb and distortion are so high when he screams I can't tell whether he's good screaming live or

not.

His screaming is pretty good, but his singing voice is absolute gold
