Bloc, it's more Cut Copy than The Presets.

Good to see many are liking this a fair bit, but you can't help the kiwis.

I do think you'll like this, but I'm unsure how much. I'm predicting a 3.5.

I've started to float back into my continual 3.5 ratings, so maybe that's why I said that.

nice review but I listened to the top 5 on spotify and didn't like it at all. I mean sure it would sound ok as background music if I was chilling by an Ibiza pool or something but personally I don't think it's interesting enough to listen to. A lot of the time it sounds like elevator music.

Harsh, but I can sort of see where you're coming from. You see, I think that about most music that is described as "chill". I think this adds just enough dance/pop elements to the equation though.

And wouldn't we all want to be by an Ibiza pool anyway!?

Oooh, close. Both songs are early on... Tends to suggest it needs more listens.

The thing about this kind of music is that it's really simple to me, so upon first listen I'll either like a song or I won't like a song. I never ever listen to the album again.

No wonder you have almost 1700 ratings then.

I know what you're getting at, but I can't do that. You miss out on too many excellent albums which may not be immediate then.

That's a good point as well. I've recently been re-listening to a lot of the albums I rated a long time ago just to make sure I haven't missed out on some great songs. It's happened a few times, I won't lie.

It happens to all of us... & I do agree that with certain types of music, it is easier to tell on 1st listen than others. But I've been burnt enough to never go by 1st listen anymore.

And the other thing goes back to what I originally stated about track ordering. I've got this anal thing where I have to listen to an album in a different order. That can be a way of hearing things you don't usually get on 1st listen. EG: Try tracks 7-12 & then 1-6 or something along those lines.

Sounds like an interesting plan, I will try that out sometime.

Yeah, it might not be as much use on this album, but could be if your 1st impression was that it was front-loaded.

Great call on this Davey Boy, I'm loving "Holiday" and "Imagination (I Want You to Know)"

Thanks Timbo. This album seems to be really divisive. The 2 tracks you've mentioned are probably the most dancey/poppy.
