Nah.

The most popular 'underground' act of all time doing a strip backed set of covers, unheard classics peppered with acoustic versions of their less popular tracks in a carefree relaxed manner exploding at the closing song laced with uncertainty and venom.

There's ' MTV unplugged' which is Neil Young, Clapton, Alice in Chains and then there is this thing.

I mean you can say that the AiC Unplugged is the best (you'd be wrong), but this thing is on a completely different level as far as cultural impact and interest.

"I mean you can say that the AiC Unplugged is the best (you'd be wrong)"

I love how you throw "right" and "wrong" to the realm of opinion lol.

"this thing is on a completely different level as far as cultural impact"

An album's cultural impact is always fun to look at and discuss but it should not influence how much enjoyment you get out of it tbh.

First and last time I ever cried to music was to this in '94.

Explode is right though, this album was absolutely massive when it dropped, the AIC unplugged, as epic as it was, didn't make the same dent.

Do standard Sputnik practices not apply to discussion of 90s alternative?

And in this case cultural impact seems directly related to quality, imo of course.

AIC's Unplugged is very very close to this but this shades it imo. Both foreshadow the tragedies to come in the future for Kurt and Layne. Hell Kurt looks pretty chirpy compared to Layne.
