Also, modernism in music is easier to talk about. Modernists such as Schoenberg aimed to completely redefine what constituted music, sometimes in a dogmatic manner. Postmodernists such as Reich willfully left those occasionally doctrinal schools of thoughts behind. Now, musically, we live in a post postmodern world, where there are virtually no rules defining music, where big ambitious statements of importance are regarded with the same amount of interest as humbler-intentioned works.
