I dunno guys, I did a Morbid Angel discog listen through a couple weeks ago and going from Gateways straight into this was roouuuughhh



Mostly because of production though - Gateways sounds sludgy and heavy af, then this sounds like tracing paper in comparison - maybe if I listen to it on its own one day, but man that was not easy lol

Yeah Gateways' production is massive compared to this, however when it comes to songwriting I'd prefer Heretic by a mile.



In fact the only song I really like from G is Summoning Redemption.

Listened to Gateways to Annihilation when it was released, and never again since.

Blessed has the strongest atmosphere out of any MA album and the doomy parts are some of the most crushing in their discography.

This album deserves more love, yeah the production is rought but I think that gives it a lot of charm.
