i think the comparisons in the first paragraph are valid because i later explain how the lack of electric guitars and overall soad intensity is adequately replaced by a full orchestra; but to each their own

dryden: it gets boring if you are expecting anything remotely close to SOAD...but i think what he does, especially with those first few tracks, is really innovative

Unfortunately, no. I loved Elect the Dead, but maybe this just hasn't grown on me yet. I find the album as a whole to listen to really quite dull so far. I'm giving it a third run through now.
It has some good songs on - ie Disowned Inc, Borders Are, and Left of Center. But I'm not keen yet.
Excellent review though.
