After listening to the second track I had a feeling it would sound like an unnecessary affair that combines the bands influences into a standard but dangerously inoffensive EP. That's what it was.

Agreed with Chan. You had no intention of going in with an open mind; you knew you would dismiss it, and that's pretty much what you've done.

The reason I went into it was because you said I would probably like it and since I've been listening to a lot of post-hardcore lately it would probably fit in nicely. How did I not go into it with an open mind? Just because I liked parts of it and thought it was derivative and predictable doesn't mean that I was looking for it to be like that whatsoever.

I explained that I knew where it was going really quickly, and outside of a few moments where they crossed into jazz and spanish territory for twenty seconds, it was exactly like an unsubstantial beginner's post-hardcore EP.
It was derivative because most of the experimentation they did had been done by bands like The Blood Brothers before them. The post-hardcore formulas were really simplistic "bunch of riffs and screams, a few nice drum fills, fall into that really melodic sect and repeat" bit, and considering that's been done by so many bands before them with much better results, it comes across as derivative.

Album sucks but the rest of their discography is beast except for like their records that aren't.

this whole ep is really amazing, i think traps and tricks and such is their best song from when they were making this kind of music though. I just love the really heavy "5 fingers god damn 4 fingers whoa..." part. But this is way better as a whole. Nemo is the best on here IMO but it's hard to pick.
