Whoa this is good. The nintendoness reminds me oddly of HORSE the Band if they were being at all serious. And took a half-dose of ritalin.

Really well-written review Dave, disagree on a few points, Logdrum's a brilliant song! Genki Shank too...but I'm really really liking it and think they've done well to mix it up and bring the new styles in. It sounds absolutely formidable live too.

Much deeper and interesting than their debut. I would love to take a bath in this, while drinking redbull and watching anime of some sort.

Idk guys I still think the debut is a lot better, not that this isn't good or anything.

I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the HBO series Oz.

This was pretty refreshing to hear. I thought their first album was way too short.

Can't really get into it nearly as much as the first album...it lost all of its shred and jam factor for me.
|

Spiffy review. Just got around to listening to this and I liked it even more than their debut, which while great became a bit repetitive after a few listens. They sound much more confident here and it seems like the songs have a tighter focus on structure as opposed to the carefree jamming of the first album. Guitars still shred like crazy though, which will always be this band's main appeal.
Great stuff.

Why is this (back) on the front page? Good review though.
