The owl and the tanager is incredible, enchanting ghost is also really good, and all delighted people is some kind of epic. What a great little surprise, and now another new album in a month and a half. Sufjan is something else.

I missed The BQE all together but I'm loving this. The only thing is, I don't see it as absurdly over the top (especially if you discount the closer). There's guitar solos but the general feel and sound of the album is very much in line with Illinoise.

I disagree morrissey, this album really branches off his work on Dark Night of the Soul/BQE while maintaining his folky aura he's always had.

Like I said I've never heard either of the two works you're referencing, so I can't comment on that point. I just think it flows really well from Illinoise.
I've been listening to this EP a lot over the past few days. I'm not sure what it is, but there is something warm and comforting about it.

Aren't a few of these older songs though? This is definately a much more somber affair than Illinoise.

this is his best work
