Ohio-based outfit House of Heroes get ambitious on 'The End is Not The End', a concept album that attempts to take in multiple sub-genres of rock. There are the catchy hooks from pop-punk, the huge melodic riffs of hard-rock, the vocal harmonies from pop-rock, and even a hint of the progressive with quirky rhythms & tempo changes. Expertly crafted, there is real depth here, even in the way in which the spiritually themed lyrics are integrated into the World War II concept. It may be a touch overlong at 58 minutes, but this LP is surprisingly consistent, never boring & strangely fun. Recommended Tracks: If, Code Name: Raven, Field of Daggers & Lose Control.

I can't get a handle on this album. I want to like it more than I do.

That spoken part on Voices completely kills the song for me.

It makes me a little sad that nothing else I have heard from this band hits the highs that In The Valley Of The Dying Sun does for me
