I dunno man, it's the poppy song of the album and I feel it doesn't fit with the rest of the album.
Yes everything is great about ''No Way''. ''Sisters'' is easily my fave on here.

Curiosity is better than a 2.5, I confess. Out of the Road Salt series, it's probably the song that sounds the most like Johan Langell' era, which is a good thing obv. I could imagine it in Scarsick. But there is something that annoys me into that one. Not sure what it is, but with repeated listens, it seems to be better. So it's a 3 with a potential of 3.5 for now ;)

Obviously it'll be a concept album, but I'm hoping they're not going heavy because of the fans. I don't want it to sound contrived

Thanks for sharing this, Omair. And I have the same hopes than you. Let's trust Daniel.

Great news, I love Entropia.
The old line-up is dissolved, so chances are PoS are going elsewhere in terms of style.

Yeah they couldn't sound the same anymore, mostly because of the sober approach of their new drummer. He changes so much the dynamics.
Johan Langell is missing so hard, but that era is definitely over.

Langell was obviously amazing and really difficult to replace, and Leo lacks a bit of the x factor that Langell had. But I still think leo's a fine replacement. He's a bit more groove oriented. I miss the old lineup as well, and it even feels weird to call this new lineup POS, but as long as Daniel's at the helm there is hope. I don't like that Ragnar is getting a larger presence though

Ah, finally we can hear him in the first place. Nice little funky groove btw, but I basically expected a minimum of technique from him. The major problem with his drumming; it's always too subtle, too muffled in the mix, so we cannot detect the details... and most of the time, he doesn't show up what he's able to do. Could his playing be restrained by Daniel's will? Who knows...
As for the new line-up (I should say since the Road Salt series), It feels like there is no Pain of Salvation anymore, and it would be rather like a Daniel Gildenlow solo career that just begun.

I think the music was more groove oriented on the RS albums and so Leo focused on that aspect of his playing. He's technically adept as well, but so far I guess he hasn't shown us a lot of very creative drum patterns like Langell did, but maybe with more complex music he can.

Can someone tell a newbie like me in what key No Way is?

So many songs in here speak about things artists usually avoid [ Jealousy (No Way), Shame (Sisters), Pride (Tell me you don't know), Tiredness ( Of Dust) ], or talk about love in ways no other has done (Where it Hurts, She likes to Hide). It's that vibe of fragileness and weakness the lyrics have that make this truly an astounding album. Love it

This is incredibly enjoyable, I can't believe this and RS2 are considered to be their worst albums tbh.

The only song I like here is Sisters tbh

The title track is such a sad little piece

I'm glad they stopped making albums like this. There's pretty much 0 reason to listen to this when the actual 70s music they were ripping off here is much better.

Well, that way of looking at is is legit I'd say. They need to bring back the melodies imo, ITPLoD is good, but 1) way too long and 2) lacking melody imo. This is much more fun and works so well. Very lovely

I can't help but love this whole direction, it's a 4 for me at least. Daniel said in an interview that he always liked the sound, style and integrity, but never really loved most of the songs they wrote. RSO and RST were their attempts to write something similar that Daniel liked more.
Well, I feel similar tbh for Led Zep at least.
