Absolutely. I'm going to see them in September in Lisbon. I bought my ticket already. This is very important for me because I only saw them once in the good old 70's, I think on the live tour of "Rain Dances", also in Lisbon. Camel are with Genesis my two favourite prog bands ever. And moreover, "Moonmadness" is my favourite album from them.

I never saw them, and I'm glad I'm finally able to.

Darn Brits get all the good Camel stuff. We Americans even have to live with the awful Mirage and Moonmadness alternate album arts! haha

Moonmadness's alternate cover rules way harder than this one

@Gentleman No way man, it's corny as hell. I have it and I am embarrassed to admit it haha. Granted, it's less of a headscratcher than the Mirage art.

Dunno. As an Hipgnosis fan, I have a thing for weird/nonsense in album's artwork that still manage to carry a unique or mysterious atmosphere
The original one is just: A snowy field

I thought the camel dressed in astronaut was the original cover art. It's the one I own too. I never saw the one shown in sputnik before sputnik or progarchives.
@Nag; Nice to see you, buddy!...I'm really happy for you about that Camel show. I hope Andrew Latimer totally recovered from his health problems in order to get an optimal performance.

It's unlike most Hipgnosis, though. I always thought his stuff is more on the lines of photographic realism, not like cartoony goofiness. The American Moonmadness does have the snowy field inside the gatefold, so I guess we are getting the best of both worlds.

Also going to the Royal Albert Hall gig, looking forward so much, only got into these guys recently after hearing Opeth listing them as their influence (I'm a massive Opeth fan). As soon as I found out they're still touring I bought the tickets immediately!

Yeah, Benighted is basically a rip-off of Never Let Go.

You're right Nag. The acoustic guitar is so identical, it's obviously intentional. I'm not an Opeth expert, but they probably sound a bit like Camel elsewhere. Considering Mikael's love for Camel, it's more like a nod and a wink (no pun intended) to the band.

Last week I saw Camel live again. 40 years have passed since I saw them before. I loved again. Besides, "Moonmadness" is my favourite album of them. But, maybe I loved more the second part of the show than the "Moonmadness" first part. Despite the health problems of Latimer, he still is in a very good shape. That confirmed my ever opinion. The guy is a great guitarist, one of the best. Unfortunatelly he never had the true recognition he deserve. I hope he continue and maybe I can see Camel again. Who knows.
