I honestly hope this 50th anni remix thing happens to Magical Mystery Tour up to The White Album just cos that extreme 60s panning of instruments/vox can be irritating at times

they've done a little better, not a whole lot. I mean it's pretty hard to improve on this without completely overhauling their sound (which they did huzzah), and 20/20 over this might be okay if you talking JT lol

Disagree so so so so so hard whenever someone says that the album's core is sensibly weaker than the bookends. I mean, Mr Kite, Lovely Rita and Good Morning are my favorite songs here if I had to forcibly take only three (plus Lucy as a bonus because best song ever).

New remix is very cool by the way, finally a stereo version I can get behind without wishing I was listening to the original mono. Could become my go-to version

Good morning is balls. Mr kite is a sweet concept that's pretty boring to actually listen to.

Good morning is dope as fuck. Love the highway brass and the way the whole song is basically a commerical jingle. weakest song here is probably rita imo and I still like it a lot

Mr Kite has so many memorable melodies developing throughout the whole song especially in its last third, I could never call it boring. Good Morning rocks hard and rhythmically is insanely addictive, that scorching guitar solo does its job too. Rita is a huge mood lifter for me with its groovy bass, I love the "lovely Rita meter maid" chants and the trippy ending (the last 30 seconds basically) is a little masterpiece, I wish it was longer

I have this and 20/20 rated the same... I think they're both near-masterpieces of their respective eras :]

That time of the year again where I solely listen to the Beatles. Final exams are hell

The songs don't exactly make the album but the album makes the songs. There are quite a few weak songs on this album, but these are made up for by some of the greatest songs. Sgt Pepper, Lucy, With a little help, A day are all great. Rita starts off with a classic intro but fades fast. Nevertheless, it was ground-breaking in spite of the fact that as an album it is less consistent than Magical Mystery Tour, Revolver, Rubber Soul, Help and even A Hard Days Night with regard to the number of great songs on these albums.

Yeah, I can agree with that. This is definitely better as the full experience than the individual songs
