This was a solid college record for me, dropped my Sophomore/junior year.
I think Reflektor overall is not their best, but I think collectively it has some of the best tracks and atmosphere they've ever written. It's Never Over through Afterlife is one of the best 3 track combos on any of their records.

Dat bassline on It's Never Over is soooo good, I love the desperation in Butler's voice on porno and Afterlife is just a great jam.

I also think the reason for a big divide between Reflektor and We Exist is James Murphy.

"Agreed, Reflektor is great. T/t is one of their best songs, and has Bowie on it so how could you go wrong."

This is weird, thought it was boring on first impression & usually that situation is irredeemable. Sneaking up on me now, I like it.

It's close but I'd take Funeral

| |
Album Rating: 4.2
Funeral is excellent and has a lot of their best songs but this is just so damn consistent and the songwriting is a lot more mature IMO

"songwriting is a lot more mature"
Rococo is on this album though
