speaking of murmurs, it is actually one of my favourites here.

LG, it's currently winter down under... Most people have a scarf tightly around their neck.
CptAwesome, are you a Billy alt?

"I try to remain quiet about the Karnivool comparison nowadays, because there is a big bunch of bad meanies that always beat me up when I say BoT>Karnivool"
I agree! Birds are definitley more fun to listen to. I reckon the reason this album is so fun is because everybody has such different tastes! I love how everybody's favourite track is completely different.

I'm finding this one to be a real grower! Circles, Wild at Heart and The Gap are possibly the catchiest 12 minutes of 2010 for me. Cannot get enough! Good review btw - you've got it spot on that BoT have released a real safe album. This is a slight disappointment imo but there is still a wealth of sound to tuck into here!

My fav. is the Gap. And I've prefered BoT over the 'vool for the most part. The songs are generally catchier but the pure emotion on Themata has my fav. Ian Kenny performances overall.

I think that gets back to the consistency aspect WhiteNoise. As I mentioned in the review, there isn't much difference between the best & worst song here.
Very well summed up KP23. I agree with everything you wrote (except 'Wild at Heart' still hasn't grown on me).
Phil, I reckon 'The Gap' is gonna be an interesting song to hear live... Especially if Ian is in an eccentric mood.
Only if it's really cold LG.

Yeah, it would be a good song when played with Violet, as they seem to me be rather similar lyrics-wise. I see the Muse comparison in 'The Unspeakable Scene', thats about it though with the Muse comparisons.

Nah, I also see Muse touches in 'The Saddest Thing I Know' & even a little in 'The Gap'. In fact, 'The Unspeakable Scene' is more Silverchair than Muse.

I also heard the Silverchair influences in a few songs, Davey. Pretty sure i mentioned it in my review.

Yeah for sure, The Unspeakable Scene would fit right at home on diorama.

The good thing is that they didn't go overboard with it. It wouldn't have been BoT if they had.
In other news, I have my tix for October-1.

Yeah, I listened to Neon Ballroom and I get what you guys are getting at now. It is a bit like Silverchair in some parts.
In other news I should get my tix to see them in Sept. Argh.
