Same, but I basically haven't heard anything heavier at that point. It was back in 2006 so it makes sense

There are some enjoyable songs on it but the songwriting is not very good. Is this really considered metalcore? Almost all songs on it follow the same tired 3 chorus routine. I know many metalcore albums where there isn't a single 3 chorus song on it.
The song structures often are too poppy for me.
I mean compare this album to Rescue & Restore by August Burns Red for example, there are worlds between both. August Burns Red at least know how to keep songs interesting so that they don't get old and tired that quickly. Of course The Poison is much more accessible but to me it doesn't make it better.
There are metalcore albums with the same rating than The Poison. Shadows Are Security (As I Lay Dying) also has 3.5, of course it has flaws but I still find every song enjoyable and it has a certain kind of atmosphere (at least to me), I love to listen to it in early autumn on very cold but sunny (or with pale sun) days, it's a great one to get lost into.
THis shit album here just is pop crap nothing more.

This album, A7X and Killswitch were all my favorite middle school metal jams. Good times, but some of them kinda aged not too well.
