unbelievable album
I keep expecting to wake up one day and for this not to be as incredible as it once was due to my gradual changing taste, but despite my pessimistic ways the greatness here can never be denied. It transcends, truly.

What a time to be alive that would've been if I'd discovered them on release (TAOM must've been reasonably close to be fair, but it hadn't literally just come out when I became aware of it).

It's strange how when you discover something changes your perspective regarding when something was released (well it does for me anyway). If you had asked me which came first then I'd have sworn this was at least a couple of years later, especially if I gave it very little thought.
TAOM feels so damn old to me because it's been in my life so long and so much has happened since, whereas that's not really the case here

In fairness, Songs About Jane is loaded with bangers and that's just the truth of it. The band promptly fell off a cliff afterwards but they DID score one genuine point.

In 2006 I was the biggest In Flames fanboy of all time. Now I think they are a joke lol. Didn't really listen to any other metal at that point too. But I'm grateful that they made me get into metal :3
