That’s quite a lot of money, which is my point, haha. I was hoping the remaster was sufficient but it really isn’t. I’ll keep searching. Only want a CD by the way

Please recommend me more epic (progressive?? Technical?? idk) death metal concept albums similar to this. I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but it becomes a lot more enjoyable to me in the form of concept albums. So far I've heard this, and Odyssey to the West by Slice the Cake.

BTBAM - The Parallax II: Future Sequence

Periphery - Juggernaut Alpha/Omega

The Dear Hunter - Act V (not really metal but rad nonetheless)

Insomnium - Winter's Gate

Shadow Of Intent - Reclaimer

I was aiming more toward the death metal side, but I appreciate the suggestions nonetheless. I haven't heard the bottom three so I'll check those out.

Closest equivalent off the top of my head is In Vain. Slower compositions overall that lean towards melodic > prog tendencies, but with riffs as tall as mountains.

They released an album earlier this year, and the one they released before then is an easy 4.5 in my book with room to grow

I'm gonna plug Unexpect - Fables of the Sleepless Empire

Because why not. If you like BTBAM, it might work, some people have compared them (debatable how similar they are) and they are better imo. Tho brace yerself for some craziness

Unexpect are on my radar but after seeing that comparison to BTBAM, I might be dropping them down my list of priorities.

From your ratings you have only heard Colors by BTBAM?

Check self-titled, Silent Circus, Alaska, Great Misdirect, Parallax I & II, Coma Ecliptic before you draw to any conclusions...

If he's not into the style, he's not into the style. It's as simple as that with BTBAM. You either love the band or you don't, and you can tell if you're going to like it by listening to one of their albums once (except maybe the first two albums).
