I just realized how absolutely dark the lyrics of these songs are depending on how you hear them.



Like if a Thrash band decided to suddenly cover all of the songs on this album, the whole record becomes 10x darker and more sinister.



Most songs of this persuasion don't have that sense of duality. I wonder if that was intentional? Probably not.



Somebody get Placebo on the phone I got the perfect song for them to cover.

Photograph is a bit annoying, but just imagine Rockstar as a Thrash tune



The harsh vocals as the singer talks about his obsession with fame, popping drugs endlessly, not eating, prostitutes with evil smiles and gold diggers who use you for money.



The whole song is like a depressing autobiography.
