This remains the gold standard for prog metal. Nothing has bettered it.

as close as perfect as it gets

May be keeping this 4.5 just to express how fetishized remedy lane is in my mind

I've listened to this and Remedy Lane like a thousand times this month and right now Remedy Lane sheds this just a little.

This guys' ability to write a great chorus is unmatched in this style of music.

That's a great observation. Haven't thought about it this way and it makes a lot of sense

I hadn't noticed either until I gave In the Passing Light recently.

Daniel's ability to shift from aggressive to soft sections is also unparalleled. It's hardly ever jarring

And ben you know Imma have to disagree with you regarding Remedy Lane ;). Then again this album is in my top 10 all time greatest prog metal albums

You just described why Fandango is probably my favorite song from these guys.

And Remedy Lane is quite personal for me having also had a partner experience a miscarriage that almost cost her life and the fallout from the whole ordeal. The album is already super emotional even without the shared experience.

Some hard 5s on both albums tbh. Remedy Lane has some super relatable stuff going on, even without the cheating, sicide attempts and the miscarriage. Damn, it's super dark and uncompromising

Oh for sure I definitely appreciate the personal angle for RL ben, and wow it seems you and your partner went through a pretty tough one. Hoping things are better now.

I'm not saying it's a bad album by any means. TPE is the one that resonated with me personally most out of all the POS albums. They're all pretty damn emotionally dense and heavy, which I admire for a metal /prog band
