The lyrics. Idk, I'm not even a huge lyrics person at all (normally I just tune them out for hte most part), but listening to a song like "The Game Played Right" (http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858830449/) I have to cringe and hit next because it's just... gross. Like, I love the instruments, I love the vocal tone and melodies that he can pull off, but the lyrics are an epic buzzkill. And I guess that's why it's worth bringing up again; he still lets moments of douchebaggery invade his music which makes it nigh on unlistenable to me.

Brah this is exactly true for me, and I dislike the lyrics too. I guess I just think the music is way more important than the lyrics in every case, so I really don't listen too closely (although I do pay some attention, and bands like mwY are exceptions). I guess when it gets to the point where it's this bad it matters. I think it's also kind of true because usually his voice is the center of your focus in this and it's always loud and crystal clear so when he drops a line like "Her dress fell faster and we all know what comes after", it's hard to ignore.



Now that's not always the case for this album, but there are quite a few lines that make me cringe.

Haha exactly why I chose this username. And yea, there are definitely some good songs off this album (as always), the others just leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. And atavan, no, it's not that it's ABOUT sex, it's that he's singing about it in a way that would make Chad Kroeger blush.
