listen to the first few minutes of the title track...which I guess is the second and final track lol see what u think

Kind of Blue is perfect though and Bitches Brew probably a little overrated so maybe we'll agree to disagree

yeah idk bitches brew has a lot of cool stuff going on and kind of blue just sounds like the same song on repeat for an hour. i do love some old jazz like black saint and the sinner lady, but a lot of it just sounds more homogeneous than a doom metal album

this definitely doesn't sound like "most jazz", although I am personally a huge fan of Jazz That Sounds Like Jazz (40s-mid-60s bop)

would also highly recommend testing out EMERGENCY! from the same year as this, flylo vibes even tho its overlong

gonna dl and give it a go. it is the album just before bitches brew so maybe i'll like it! i just like some variety in jazz. just straight up hard jazz is probably my least favourite genre of music. funnily enough though i love fusions. like, i think jazz is amazing in hip hop (nujabes)

it's so funny how different this is from bitches brew even though they came out very close to each other. it's almost too easy to draw comparisons (or a lack thereof) based on the covers...this one is all cool and silky and nighttime and bitches is SULTRY and whatever. Miles is crazy

that could be why gyro likes black saint a lot, definitely more orchestral and less solo oriented or whatever. also early "jass" is sorta like that I guess too haha. haha. ha

HA

yeah, i need more to my music than just a dude playing a trumpet for an hour. black saint has variety and some really stellar memorable moments. kind of blue i couldn't tell one moment from the next. maybe that's a bit exaggerated, it has been quite a while since i heard it.

title track is basically a post-rock song twenty years ahead of schedule

I sometimes wonder whether this 4.0 is too low. Why didn't I 4.5 it again?

I wonder the same thing about my 4.5

This will probably be a 5.0 one day

Need to listen to this and Bitches Brew back to back to finally decide which one I prefer.

Prefer this over Bitches, but that might be because I jam it much more due to its shorter length

Bitches Brew it a mammoth sprawling headfuck of a listen.

This is subtle. I’d take this but absolutely love Brew as well.
