I love that part of "CMYK" so much - I'm not generally a fan of plunderphonics, but The Avalanches and this guy are just sublime.

I was surprised and somewhat uneasy at first when I listened to this because of how 'busy' it sounds compared to his other work, but it's really quite enjoyable.

I think he perfected his craft with his st debut, although I'd appreciate a longer version of the Klavierwerke EP just as much, possibly more. To me, this is a less advanced, busier experimental phase for Blake, but something that helped him in the creative process of finding his sound. It's really cool on occasion, but I prefer the more laid-back lounge sound of his later works.
