thanks, always appreciated.
and I really think he was messing with him. excruciating was a good word robin.

nah, he does it in every interview. some interview he did with a gay times magazine he said he hated all hetrosexual and homosexual music out right. and then rolled his eyes, of course. youtoob it.

maybe he’s really not that crazy.
well, he's crazy for you, but not that crazy.
good review. now it's about time you gave 69 love songs another shot.

I really like 69 Love Songs Rasputin, I just need to get through it a few more times before I give it the inevitable 5.
but thanks too, yaknow

This would most likely work out fine, until we were both knee deep in our (current)glass and the fact that he’s probably insane would arise and I would promptly exit before we’re at each other’s throat.
obvious typo.

give it 2 weeks I'll be in the same boat -- as if I wasn't already.

I've been really warming up to these guys a lot. I love Holiday and 69 Songs, but I'm letting this and Get Lost grow on me a bit.

don't go all robin on me now!
but srsly I can deal with those ratings.
This might still be my favorite, but '69' grows more and more every time I get through it all.
and I still need to spin 'Distortion' which I'm probably predisposed to loving.

Good review. This is one of my favorite albums by one of my favorite bands and it's one I always come back to and listen through in its entirety. I know many people know about it and have listened to it, but I still find that it's one of the most underrated merritt albums. I don't really rank my music, but this is in my top 3 magnetic fields albums.

I've liked Holiday for a long time and have most of their other stuff, but for some reason never listened to it much. Jamming this album now and obviously regretting holding off for so long.
this is an awesome review btw Yeti

This might be on par with 69 Love Songs...

If only everything on here was as excellent as "Lonely Highway" and "Born on a Train"

Long Vermont Roads and Two Characters... are on the same level as those two
And Magnetic Fields' individual song quality over an album always wavers, it's that even the lesser cuts build up how brilliant the cumulative atmospheric wash is that makes their great stuff great

Still haven't found a genuinely brilliant song by this hack Merritt...this is the SIXTH album of his I've tried now, two songs in, so far the usual dross.
The king of writing average songs, sorry Steve. At least you record a lot of them eh?
